Rainbow Bridge

Gone but not forgotten...

"Notinghil's Breton Hennessey"

1994 - 1999

Hennessey was our very first purebred Labrador Retriever.

I pursued obedience and hunt training with him.

Purchased as a pet, Hennessey was never bred.

This is the dog that stole our hearts and showed us what this breed is made of.

We have never looked back...

Taken much too soon, we miss you Hennessey.

"Sambuca"

1997-2004

Our Friend, Our Guardian....

I bought Buca for my husband when his father died in 1997.

Buca taught us all about owning a Rottweiler.

He was a wonderful, gentle friend and a great protector.

Sadly, we lost him after a short battle with bone cancer at the age of 7.

"Sun Of A Blitzen"

1993 - 1/28/2007

"Blitz"

I rescued Blitzen on Christmas Eve from the terrible fate of a slaughterhouse .

This boy won close to a half of a million dollars as a race horse.

He was only with me a short time before I lost him to colic.

In his time with me, he gave me several gifts that I will never forget and only wish

I had the time to repay him for.

Thank you my little angel horse, for showing me I can still do it.

"author unkown"

If it should be, that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my peaceful sleep,

Then you must do what must be done

For this, the last battle, can't be won.

Don't let your grief stay your hand,

For this day more than all the rest,

Your love and friendship stand the test

RIP Blitzen

A few poems to share...

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a wonderful place called
RAINBOW BRIDGE.
When a beloved pet dies, it goes to wait for us at
RAINBOW BRIDGE.
There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they
can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine.
Our dear friends are warm and comfortable,
All the animals who have been ill and were old are restored to
health and vigor,
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again
just as we remember them in our dreams gone by.
Our beloved friends are happy and content......
except for one small thing....
They each miss someone special to them...
Someone who has been left behind.

They all run and play together until the day when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent,
suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted.
When you and your special friend meet you cling together
in joyous reunion,
NEVER to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face,
your hands caress the beloved head
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your dear pet,
so long gone
from your life but never absent from your heart.....

Then you cross RAINBOW BRIDGE and enter Heaven together.

A Little Dog Angel

High up in the courts of heaven today a little dog angel waits;
With the other angels he will not play, but he sits alone at the gates.
"For I know my master will come" says he, "and when he comes he will call for me."
The other angels pass him by as they hurry toward the throne,
And he watches them with a wistful eye as he sits at the gates alone.
"But I know if I just wait patiently that someday my master will call for me."
And his master, down on earth below, as he sits in his easy chair,
Forgets sometimes, and whispers low to the dog who is not there.
And the little dog angel cocks his ears and dreams that his master's voice he hears.
And when at last his master waits outside in the dark and cold,
For the hand of death to open the door that leads to those courts of gold,
He will hear a sound through the gathering dark,
A little dog angel's bark.
